Elevator Speech

My name is Valerie Nagle. Currently I am in my third year at
Utah Valley University where I completed my associates and was working towards
a bachelor’s degree. I will be transferring over to another school next fall
after I have received California residency and work towards a bachelor’s degree.
I have worked in several customer service positions. Most recently I worked at
Certiport as a Customer Support Specialist. I helped people with the website
and testing software functionality. When it comes to work I am very devoted. I
have been privileged thus far to work purely for the satisfaction I get from a
good days work. I identify well with the customers and do my best to help them
within the constrictions laid down by the company. Environments of learning are
my thriving work environment and I enjoy a company that seeks constant
improvement in employees. Such companies know that the most important step in
improvement is starting with the individual. I need a job that will allow me to
connect with individuals and help customers on a personal basis.

Were I to apply for a job and I was asked to tell a little about myself and my work experience this would be the kind of thing I would say. The first time giving this speech is a little rough, and with any speech I have to present it at least three times before it sounds smooth. Practicing for job interviews or speaking with any professional requires a practice beforehand to really come across the way I want to. This was a good exercise.
